A log projects out of a wall with a hole drilled into its
cut face. Through the hole can be seen, several feet behind the wall, the video of a sunset and floating clouds. As the viewer leans in to look into the hole their face is met with a stream of air coming from the opening.

An eye size hole projects out from the gallery wall. Several feet behind the wall the viewer’s gaze is redirected with mirrors out a window on the side of the building. The viewer sees the outdoor landscape of distant mountains, trees just outside the building blowing in the wind.
With this work I am attempting to play with the viewer's expectation of art and their experience with it in a gallery setting.

A ten foot log sits physically balanced by internal counter weighting on one saw horse. No wires or bolts are used in achieving this effect, it is simply balanced.

Two internally counter weighted logs hang in balance from ceiling mounted ropes. Both swing freely 180 degrees in space. They come close, but do not collide with each other.

Birch logs hang vertically, suspended by metal wire at the top and bottom. Nothing visually connects the middle log to the top. Internal magnets allow the piece to appear suspended in air. Kinetically, both top logs rotate opposite each other on a magnetized axis.
